23. Colours
Out of the blue one
day, he was caught red-handed while defaming his
competition. Their success made him green
with envy. A day prior, he was very late
for his meeting, he caught the red-eye from Delhi
to Mumbai. He was always like this, the black
sheep of his business circle. Sometimes he would come to the meeting all black and blue and when asked, would tell a white lie. But, he used every golden opportunity that came his way and gave
people a green signal for a profitable association. His company recently celebrated its silver jubilee, this month. His life is full of colours.
That doesn’t make sense, right? Even to me. But did you see
the extensive use of colour idioms. This was to bring to your notice, how we
use colours out of context in our mundane life. We all know the meaning to this
idioms but have you ever wonder why are they said that way? I didn’t, until
today. This blog is about different colours and what it signifies.
Red: This, I am sure many of you can guess, the colour
signifies energy and passion. (No surprise there)
Green: Green signifies nature, balance and growth. The
colour is usually associated with the environment but, from a business perspective
Blue: Blue generally means trust and integrity. The colour
is used by multiple brands in their logos portraying themselves as trustworthy
brands. It also signifies water and sky.
Yellow: Yellow means warmth and positivity. The colour is
very bright and vibrant and attracts attention very quickly.
Black: Black indicates power and mystery. The colour is
widely in use and can sometimes give a negative impression as well, if not used
correctly.
Grey: Grey is the colour of compromise. It is a colour
between black and white, two completely diverse colours compromising to make one.
White: White signifies purity and innocence. The colour is
just perfection, effortlessly beautiful.
