12. Volunteering at PRAXIS 2019

PRAXIS, the world’s largest festival for PR professionals was organized in Grand Hyatt, Goa on 27th and 28th September. This was the eighth edition to the annual summit for reputation management professionals based on the theme ‘Trust at the core of Public Relations.’  As an aspiring PR professional studying in SCoRe, I got the opportunity to not only attend the event but also to volunteer and work with the management team of PRAXIS. I was a part of the social media team for the 2-day event with two of my classmates. This blog is an amalgamation of my learnings in PRAXIS 8 while volunteering with the social media team.

Digital presence is very important to overcome geographical limitations and reach a wide number of audience. The social media team was responsible for creating a very strong online presence and accounting each and every happening at the event. The team was operating on PRAXIS Website and Twitter handle, I was specifically working on the Twitter handle. I was responsible for tweeting all the important information, learning, update from the event so that it could reach a wider audience.

During the course of the event, #PRAXIS8 became trending on twitter and created a buzz online. It made me realise that in the current scenario, maintaining a strong online presence is very crucial.

The work also gave me an understanding of how to handle the online portal and how to be creative as well as informative in a few words. During the event, we all learned the importance of teamwork and coordination and how to work hard and smart. For me, PRAXIS 2019 was an amazing journey of unlearning and learning for personal development.
