11. Communication

What is Communication?
Communication is the exchange of information between two or more people. The information can be transferred by speaking, writing, or any other medium. Effective communication is only achieved when the message comes across as intended. There are three types of communication: Verbal, non-verbal, visual.

What is the process of communication?
The process of communication involves the sender, message, channel and receiver. The process starts with a sender who has a message to send across, he/she further encodes the message keeping the end receiver in mind. The message is then communicated to the receiver through a specific channel. After that, the receiver decodes to the message and upon understanding gives feedback.

Have you used the power of communication until now?
Communication is a very important part of our day to day life. We communicate for all simple things, it helps us co-exist in society. While communication is a basic activity undertaken by humans to transfer information, many don’t realise the power it holds. Communication can enable one to inspire, influence, and persuade. One can coax their target audience through effective communication to understand and favour them.

Communication has a lot of room for creativity, one can leverage it in many ways to get the desired impact. It gives a person the power to express himself/herself, influence the listeners, and make them understand a different point of view.

Specifically talking in terms of corporate communication, one can build trust and loyalty amongst the stakeholders, this elevates the company’s reputation.

I realise the power communication holds very distinctly and I write daily blogs on different subjects to leverage that power. I also used social media platforms as effective tools for communicating.
